Give your cake an extra taste sensation with a layer of pink frosting and pomegranate seeds. The cake looks so festive and delicious!


  • 1 EAT ME pomegranate
  • 150 g pistachio nuts
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 g icing sugar
  • 1 tbsp. pink food colouring


  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g caster sugar
  • 250 g flour
  • 5 eggs
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp. poppy seeds
  • pinch of salt

Let's get to work

  1. Preheat the oven to 160 °C.
  2. Mix the butter, sugar and milk together in a food processor.
  3. Then add the five eggs one by one.
  4. When everything is mixed, add the flour, baking powder, salt and poppy seeds.
  5. Grease a cake tin and pour the batter into the cake tin.
  6. Bake the cake in the oven for about 45-50 minutes until done and leave to cool down completely.
  7. Meanwhile, make the frosting. Separate the 2 egg yolks from the egg whites. Beat the egg whites and add the icing sugar and food colouring.
  8. Cut the top off the pomegranate. Cut gently along the ridges from the top to the bottom. Open the fruit. Then remove the pomegranate seeds.
  9. Finely chop the pistachio nuts.
  10. Spread the pink frosting on the cake. Evenly divide the pistachio nuts and pomegranate seeds over the cake.
