This flavoursome, fruity salad will whisk you to the far East. Asian dishes often feature fruit and savoury ingredients. So add the sharpness of a pepper to balance the sweet fruit.

Noodle salad with papaya

Preparation method

  1. Cook the mangetout in boiling water for about 3 minutes until just tender. Drain and rinse under cold running water to stop the cooking process. Slice the mangetout into strips.
  2. Cook the noodles according to the instructions on the package.
  3. Halve the papaya lengthwise and remove the seeds with a spoon. Remove the skin and cut the flesh into slices. Cut the slices into strips.
  4. Slice the sweet pepper into strips, the onion into half rings and the spring onion into thin rings. Halve the cayenne pepper lengthwise, remove the seeds and finely slice the flesh.
  5. Combine the noodles with all the vegetables, the bean sprouts , cayenne pepper and the char sui sauce. Season with salt.


  1. Tip: Sprinkle with roughly chopped, salted peanuts or cashew nuts.
