Looking for a nice dessert to prepare on the BBQ? Then go for mini pineapple! This hardy fruit stays firm and can handle the heat. Great with a bowl of ice cream and caramel sauce!


  • 2 EAT ME mini pineapples
  • 100 g hazelnuts
  • 200 g sugar
  • 100 ml water
  • 80 g butter
  • 125 ml cream
  • 1 tbsp. coarse sea salt
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream

Let's get to work

  1. Heat the barbecue.
  2. Put the sugar and water in a saucepan and heat without stirring. The water will evaporate and the sugar will turn into a beautiful brown colour.
  3. Add the butter as soon as the caramel is the right colour. Keep stirring until the butter is dissolved.
  4. Then add the cream and stir until it is thoroughly mixed.
  5. Remove from the heat and add the sea salt to taste. Then set aside.
  6. Cut the mini pineapple into 4 equal pieces. Grill them on the barbecue with the flat side down until grill marks appear and then turn around.
  7. In the meantime, roast the pine nuts in a dry frying pan until they are golden brown. Then chop them a bit smaller.
  8. Serve the grilled mini pineapple with the caramel sea salt dip, vanilla ice cream and hazelnuts.
