Coconut dessert rice, also known as sticky rice, is a lovely sweet dessert, after a tasty Asian meal for example. Treat yourself and others with this fruity recipe.


  • 2 EAT ME Nam Dok Mai mango
  • 1 EAT ME lime
  • 250 g dessert rice or short grain rice
  • 250 ml coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • 150 g caster sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Let's get to work

  1. Bring 750 ml water to the boil.
  2. Cut the lime in half and squeeze the juice out.
  3. Stir 200 ml coconut milk, caster sugar salt, vanilla sugar and the lime juice through the water.
  4. Add the rice and stir the mixture until it's boiling again.
  5. Cook the rice according to the instructions on the packet, but don't add any other ingredients.
  6. Cut the mango along the stone or use a mango cutter. Then slice the seedless flesh into strips without touching the skin. Then scoop the strips from the skin.
  7. Put the rice on a plate in an oval shape, put half of the sliced mango per plate next to the rice.
  8. Pour the remaining coconut milk over the plate of rice and mango.
  9. Top it off with the grated coconut.
