There is nothing better than a large sip of ice cold ice tea on a warm sunny day, but it has to be homemade of course. Try it yourself and make this recipe for ice tea with kumquats and lime. Really refreshing!

Ingredients

  • 8 EAT ME kumquats
  • 2 EAT ME limes
  • 3 sprigs EAT ME mint
  • 3 bags 'Earl Grey' tea
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 160 g sugar

Let's get to work

Preparation
  1. Rinse the kumquats and cook on a low heat for 15 minutes in 100 ml of water mixed with 100 g of sugar. Leave the kumquats to cool down in the liquid until it has room temperature and then place it in the freezer.
  2. Make 2 litres of 'Earl Grey' tea and make sure it doesn't get too dark.
  3. Add 60 grams of sugar and the honey and mix thoroughly.
  4. Leave the tea to cool down in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
  5. Rinse the lime and cut in wedges.
  6. Rinse the mint. Add the mint leaves, lime and the kumquats to the tea when it is cold. Put it in the fridge for 1 hour so the flavours are completely infused.
