A delicious quick and easy recipe but absolutely delicious thanks to this beautiful tropical fruit: The kiwano


  • 2 EAT ME kiwano (1 for decoration)
  • 2 twigs EAT ME red currants
  • ½ EAT ME Lime 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 1 packet custard powder
  • 1 egg

Let's get to work

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.
  2. Place the puff pastry sheets in an oven dish and brush these with the beaten egg.
    Bake until ready in about 17 minutes.
  3. Make the custard according to the instructions on the packet.
    Let the custard stiffen in the fridge for about 5 minutes.
  4. Cut the kiwano in half and spoon out the jelly-like pulp. Mix the kiwano flesh and the sugar together.
  5. Cut the lime in half. Squeeze the juice out of half a lime. Add the lime juice to the kiwano mixture.
    Fold everything together thoroughly.
  6. Fill a piping bag and pipe a large amount on the puff pastry. Pour the kiwano sauce over the cream.
  7. Decorate with kiwano wedges and the red currant sprigs.
