  • Homemade spicy filo pockets

  • 1/2 EAT ME naga jolokia pepper
  • 1 small shallot
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 7 filo dough sheets
  • 250 g minced beef
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp. salt
  • 0.5 tsp. curry powder
  • 0.5 tsp. paprika powder
  • 2 tbsp. sweet soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. flour

Let's get to work

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  2. Chop the shallot finely and squeeze the garlic.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan and lightly fry the shallot and the garlic.
  4. Add the mince and cook until tender.
  5. Cut the naga jolokia pepper in half, remove the seeds and cut finely. Make sure you wear gloves. Add the pepper to the minced meat.
  6. Add the salt, curry powder, paprika powder, sweet soy sauce, soy sauce and flour.
  7. Place a scoop of the mixture in the middle of a filo pastry sheet. Brush the edges with olive oil.
  8. Fold the outer edges inwards and brush the edges with olive oil.
  9. Roll up the filo pockets and put them, with the closing edge facing down, on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake until golden brown in about 15 minutes.
