How about making brownies with a twist? Chocolate and chilies go very well together, like in these brownies. The habanero gives a nice (not too spicy) taste to the brownie. You'll definitely have more than one piece!

  • 2 EAT ME habanero chillies
  • 180 g caster sugar
  • 160 g butter + extra for greasing
  • 10 ml of water
  • 8 g vanilla sugar
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 2 eggs
  • 185 g flour
  • 2 g baking powder
  • 2 g salt

Let's get to work

  1. Preheat the oven to 180° C
  2. Rinse the habanero chilli, cut in half and remove the seeds. Cut the chilli into very small pieces and set aside.
  3. Put the water, sugar, butter and vanilla sugar in a saucepan and bring to the boil and then remove from heat.
  4. Break the chocolate into pieces and add to the sugar mixture and let it melt.
  5. Mix the chocolate mixture with the flour, baking powder and salt until smooth.
  6. Add the eggs and fold the habanero into the dough.
  7. Grease the baking tin with butter and pour the dough into it. Bake the brownies in the oven for about 20 minutes until done.
