Grilled avocado with tuna salad

Avocado can be prepared in many different ways. The taste is soft and creamy, perfect for grilling on the barbecue! The warm grilled avocado complements the fresh, cooler flavours of the tuna salad perfectly.

Ingredients

Salad

  • 1 tin of tuna (160 g)
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • ½ red onion
  • 1 gherkin
  • ½ red sweet pepper
  • 5 g chives
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • EAT ME Avocado
    2 avocados
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation method

  1. Drain the tuna and capers.
  2. Finely chop the onion. Finely dice the gherkin, red onion and sweet pepper. Coarsely chop the chives. Reserve some chives as a garnish.
  3. Mix all the diced ingredients. Then mix with the tuna, capers, mayonnaise and ketchup. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Slice the avocado all the way around the stone. Twist the two halves apart. Spoon out the stone. Place the half avocados on the barbecue or hot grill pan for approx. 2 minutes. During grilling, turn the avocados a quarter turn to create a nice grid effect.
  5. Fill the grilled avocados with the tuna salad and scatter the chives on top.
