The aromatic smell of ginger makes you think of Asiatic countries but some of us think of cold winter months. A perfect moment to try out this delicious ginger butter cake to serve with a nice big hot cup of tea.


  • 40 g grated EAT ME ginger
  • 475 g butter
  • 375 g white castor sugar
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 pinch of salt

Let's get to work

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Grate the ginger using a fine grater.
  2. Mix the butter, the castor sugar and the salt.
  3. Then add the flour, half of the beaten egg and half of the grated ginger.
  4. Mix it all together and place in a cake tin. Sprinkle the other half of the grated ginger on it and spread half of the beaten egg on top.
  5. Place in oven for 25 minutes.
