  • French toast with carambola

At the weekend it is time for delicious breakfasts. French toast is a perfect way to use stale bread. The choice of bread is yours, we are using delicious spelt bread.


  • 1 EAT ME carambola
  • 1 banana
  • 4 slices of spelt bread
  • 1 egg
  • 125 ml of milk
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • 50 g butter
  • pinch of salt

Let's get to work

  1. Beat the egg, milk, cinnamon, honey and a pinch of salt together in a deep plate.
  2. Dip the slices of bread one by one into the egg mixture and leave to saturate completely.
  3. Rinse the carambola and cut into slices, cut the banana into slices too.
  4. Heat 1/3 of the butter in a pan and fry half of the toast for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Turn halfway. Repeat with the other half of the toast.
  5. Meanwhile, heat 1/3 of the butter in a pan and fry the banana and carambola until soft and golden brown.
  6. Serve the fried banana and carambola with the toast.
