A traditional apple cake with an exotic twist. Fresh cranberries are a lovely addition to this traditional recipe. The berries are both tasty and colourful.


  • 340 g EAT ME cranberries
  • 6 Jonagold apples
  • 1 packet of apple cake mixture (see the packet for extra ingredients)
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 sachet Dr. Oetker Taartina
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon

Let's get to work

  1. Preheat oven to 150°C.
  2. Line the bottom of a 26cm springform pan with baking paper.
  3. Prepare the apple cake mixture according to the instructions on the packet.
  4. Put the dough into the springform pan.
  5. Peel the apples and remove the core. Then cut in small even pieces.
  6. Mix the pieces of apple with the granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, honey,
    cinnamon and the cranberries put this on top of the dough mixture.
  7. Bake the cake in about 45 minutes.
  8. Unclamp the outer part of the pan and leave the cake to cool down on a wire rack.
  9. Add the right amount of moisture to the Taartina sachet to make the jelly.
    Spread the Taartina with a brush over the cake.
  10. Leave the cake to set for about 30 minutes in the fridge.
