  • Christmas ginger biscuits

A children's favourite during the festive season! Great activity to bake and decorate the biscuits with the kids.


Dough for 24 biscuits:
  • 50 g EAT ME ginger
  • 200 g flour
  • 150 g butter
  • 150 g brown caster sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 egg yolk
  • pinch of salt


  • 200 g icing sugar
  • 4 ½ tbsp. water
  • Red and green food dye

Let's get to work

  1. Preheat the oven to 180° C.
  2. Peel and grate the ginger.
  3. Mix the ingredients for the dough together and then knead into a ball.
  4. Let the dough rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin.
  6. Cut out the biscuits with different Christmas shape cutters. Place the biscuits on a baking tray.
  7. Bake the biscuits for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Sift the icing sugar. Mix half of the icing sugar with 2 tbsp. of water and add the red food dye. Keep stirring until it's shiny. Do the same with the green dye.
  9. Decorate the biscuits with this. The glaze will harden by itself.
