  • Chicken jambalaya with physalis

We love simple one pot meals, such as this chicken jambalaya. Delicious with some tasty ingredients like chorizo and physalis.


  • 200 g EAT ME physalis
  • 600 g chicken breast
  • 400 g paella rice
  • 100 g mushrooms
  • 200 g chorizo
  • 6 spring onions
  • ½ L water
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp. curry powder
  • 1 dl olive oil
  • pepper and salt

Let's get to work

  1. Bring a pan with water and the stock cube to the boil. Then turn down the heat.
  2. Cut the chicken breast into cubes and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Cut the mushrooms into wedges and the spring onions into small pieces and slice the chorizo.
  4. Crush the garlic with a garlic press.
  5. Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the chicken breast for about 3 minutes.
  6. Add the mushrooms and chorizo and cook for 3 minutes.
  7. Add the rice, garlic and curry powder and cook for another minute.
  8. Deglaze with the chicken stock. Put the lid on the pan and turn down the heat.
  9. Stir thoroughly, every 3 minutes.
  10. Meanwhile, remove the papery husks from the physalis and wash the berries. Add to the mixture and let it boil gently.
  11. Remove the pan from the heat after 5 minutes and stir the spring onions into the rice.
