  • Avocado and tomato sandwich

Did you know that sailors used to use avocado as butter? Avocado on bread is nutritious as well as delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 EAT ME avocado
  • 20 g EAT ME basil leaves
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 12 lettuce leaves
  • 6 slices of wholemeal bread
  • pepper & salt

Let's get to work

Preparation
  1. Wash the tomatoes and cut in slices.
  2. Rinse the basil and lettuce leaves. Pat the leaves dry and finely chop the basil.
  3. Cut the avocado all the way around, going as deep as the stone. Twist until you can pull the 2 halves apart.
    Remove the stone with a spoon and scoop the flesh out and cut in slices.
  4. Cut the crusts off the bread.
  5. Top a slice of bread with 2 lettuce leaves, tomato slices and sprinkle the basil over it.
    Cover it with another slice of bread and place lettuce leaves and avocado on it. Add pepper and salt to taste.
    Finish it off with another slice of bread. Do the same to the other sandwich.
  6. Cut the sandwich diagonally.
