Why do we use packaging?

At EAT ME we find it very important to pack our products sustainably. We rather do not use plastic and use as little packaging material as possible. But we should not forget that packaging also has a function such as protecting the product or extending the shelf life. Food-waste due to damage or decay of the product without packaging has a much higher environmental impact than the usage of a plastic packaging that reduces the damage and decay and therefore prevents food waste. When packaging is needed in terms of protection and shelf-life, we are working on using 100% recyclable and/or reusable packaging.

Which EAT ME packaging belongs in which bin?

We would like to help you to throw away your EAT ME packaging correctly. Currently we only have a detailed guideline on separating and recycling the EATME-packaging for The Netherlands. As each country - each municipality even - has their own way of sorting, recycling and usage of logo's, it is difficult to communicate this on the packaging. Therefore we have selected the most important websites in terms of sorting and recycling consumer waste for the following countries to which we are exporting.
